
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Behind a double-double from freshman Jaiden Williams (Orange, Conn.), the Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team defeated the Newbury College Nighthawks in straight sets, 3-0, Tuesday evening at the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletics Center.
Following tonight's win, Albertus is now 3-10 against Newbury in the all-time series and has won the last two meetings, including tonight.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Albertus Magnus came out of the gate hot hitting an impressive .310 at the net behind a game-high 17 kills to take the 1-0 advantage over the Nighthawks, 25-19.
Newbury threatened Albertus is set two, tying the score at 20-20, following a kill from Sophia Ortiz, but the Falcons managed to close out the frame with a 5-2 run, 25-22.
With the third set tied at 11-11, Albertus rallied off a 5-1 run to take a four-point lead, 16-12, heading into a timeout. Coming out of the break, Newbury battled back to within one, 20-19, but Albertus kept its composure and secured the home win.
