MARSHFIELD, Mass. - Nighthawks sophomore Taymise Sanders (Malden, Mass.) took the top spot in two events on Friday afternoon and has been recognized as the New England Collegiate Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending on April 7 and as announced by the NECC Office today.
Sanders earned a pair of first-place finishes on Friday afternoon at the Regis Spring Invitational. In the 100-meters, Sanders won the dash with a time of 12.79 seconds. In the 200-meters, Sanders took the top spot with a time of 26.72 seconds. The 100-meter time qualified Sanders for the Division III New England Championships while the 12.79 seconds is 14th-best in New England this year.
Sanders and the Nighthawks return to action on Saturday, April 13 with the Penmen's Relay, hosted by Southern New Hampshire University.
