Snead, Henriquez Take Home NECC Athlete, Rookie of the Week Honors

MARSHFIELD, Mass. - Nighthawks sophomore Desiree Snead (South Easton, Mass.) and freshman Shakira Henriquez (Haverhill, Mass.) have been named the New England Collegiate Conference Women's Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for the week ending on March 31 and announced by the NECC today.

For a second straight week, Snead finished in second place in the 100-meter hurdles. At the Corsairs Invitational, Snead took home the runner-up spot with a time of 15.79. Snead would go on to add an eighth-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 4.86 meters.

Henriquez earns her first NECC ROokie of the Week Honors with a 27th place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:56.41. She also added a 43rd place finish in the 1,500-meters with a time of 6:02.56.

The Nighthawks return to action on Friday at the Regis Pride Spring Invite.
