    The NECC announced its 2017-18 Women’s Basketball All-Conference teams and major award winners on Monday afternoon. The awards were voted on by the conference’s nine coaches following the conclusion of the regular season. Eight of the nine conference schools are represented on the all-conference teams, with Newbury College leading the way with three honorees, as well as three of the four major awards.

    Nighthawks freshman Jaymesha Sanders (West Haven, Conn.) exploded for a career-high 29 points and 24 rebounds as the Newbury Nighthawks won their third-straight game by defeating the Bay Path Wildcats 94-28 on Thursday evening at Pappas Gymnasium in New England Collegiate Conference action. The 94 points are a program record, breaking the previous mark of 89. The Nighthawks also shot 38-for-81 on the night setting a program-best in field goals made in a game.
