HENNIKER, N.H. - Nighthawks senior Savannah Olsen (Battle Creek, Mich.) finished with 12 points and became the Newbury Women's Basketball All-Time Leading Scorer, but the Newbury Nighthawks suffered an 82-72 loss at New England College on Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference play.

With 6:42 remaining in the fourth quarter, Olsen hit a three-point shot, pulling the Nighthawks to within four and giving her 1,440 career points, overtaking the all-time scoring record broken last season by Destiny Spears '18. Olsen would add a free throw in the fourth to finish the game with 1,441 career points. Olsen is four points clear of Spears in the all-time scoring books.

The Nighthawks held a two-point lead going into the fourth, but a Pilgrims 13-4 run to start the quarter would give them a seven-point lead, 65-58. The Nighthawks couldn't answer the run and never got within one possession in the final 6:56.

The Pilgrims put up 30 points in the final 10 minutes, shooting 11-of-19 from the floor and 7-for-11 from the foul line.

Olsen finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds in 36 minutes. Sophomore Jaymesha Sanders (West Haven, Conn.) finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Taylor Kelley (North Billerica, Mass.) finished with 12 points while sophomore Tatianna Occena (Spring Valley, N.Y.) added 11 points.

For the Pilgrims, Rene Hudson tied a game-high 23 points in the contest. Jaz Laracuente added 19 points for the Pilgrim offense. Daleia Boutwell finished with 11 points while Kayla Goldring added 10 points.

The win moves New England to 14-9 (13-3 NECC) while the loss breaks the Nighthawks three-game winning streak as they fall to 10-13 (8-8 NECC).

Newbury returns to action on Tuesday, traveling to Dean College for a 7:00 p.m. tip. The Pilgrims also return to play on Tuesday, hosting Elms College for a 7:00 p.m. game.
