NEW LONDON, Conn. - Senior Tim Brown (Orange, Conn.) completed the Mitchell Invitational course in a time of 19:31.96, leading his team to a second place finish at the Mitchell 5k on Saturday morning.
Nighthawks runners Joshua Oliver (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Chris Beaudoin (Bristol, Conn.) would finish in the top 10 times for Newbury. Oliver ran the course in 20:20.50, good for seventh place. Beaudoin would finish ninth with a time of 21:33.06.
Wheelock's sophomore Chris Genty won the meet, completing the course in 18:26.30. Wheelock finished third in the meet.
Mitchell College took the team portion of the meet, finishing with 40 points and a total time 4:33 better than Newbury. Mitchell's David Still finished the meet second at 18:35.26.
Freshman Nicholas Luciano (Vineland, N.J.) finished 12th at 22:25.33 for the Nighthawks. Elias BouChamoun (Stockton, N.J.) ran the course in 24:28.05. Junior Devin Johnson (Manchester, Conn.) finished the 5k in 25:40.23
The Nighthawks race again next Saturday at Chicopee Memorial State Park; race scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
