  • Nighthawks Winning Streak Ends With Pair of Losses on Saturday

    The Nighthawks three-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday as the No. 12 Endicott Gulls and Nichols Bison scored a pair of wins over the Newbury Nighthawks on Saturday afternoon in tri-match play. The Gulls defeated the Bison in the other match of the day. All three contests finished in straight sets.
  • Nighthawks Keep Rolling, Sweep Doubleheader vs. Lesley

    The Newbury Nighthawks improved to 5-1 in the New England Collegiate Conference following a pair of victories over the Lesley Lynx on Tuesday evening at Pappas Gymnasium in a weekday doubleheader. Both matches finished 3-0 in favor of Newbury.

    Blazers sophomore Jeremy Torres (Juncos, PR) was one of five Blazers with at least six kills, leading the team with 10 kills, as the No. 15 Elms Blazers defeated the Newbury Nighthawks 3-0 (25-8, 25-8, 25-10) on Wednesday evening in New England Collegiate Conference play.

  • Nighthawks Sweep Trip to Vermont for First Two Wins of Season

    After six losses to open the 2019 season, the Nighthawks men's volleyball program swept a pair of matches on Sunday afternoon at Northern Vermont at Johnson State. In addition to the two wins, Newbury picked up a New England Collegiate Conference win over Southern Vermont in the first match of the day, putting them at 2-6 (1-0 NECC) this season.

    The Colby-Sawyer men’s volleyball team dropped the first two sets, but rallied to win the next three and earn the program’s second win in as many tries in its inaugural season. The Chargers defeated Newbury 25-27, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 15-7.

    Beavers sophomore Xhuilo Myftari (Durres, Albania) finished with a game-high 16 kills while hitting .483 from the floor, leading the City College of New York Beavers over the Newbury Nighthawks, 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-17) on Tuesday evening from Pappas Gymnasium.
  • Nighthawks Land in Sixth in Men's Volleyball Preseason Poll

    Defending champions Elms College and reigning regular season champion Endicott College tied for the top spot in the 2019 NECC Men’s Volleyball Preseason Coaches Poll, with each school collecting 60 points.  The Blazers and Gulls split the first place votes, collecting four apiece.
