Cruz Voted to All-Sportsmanship Volleyball Team

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Nighthawks sophomore defensive specialist Cesar Cruz (Brockton, Mass.) was voted as a member of the 2017 New England Collegiate Conference All-Sportsmanship Team as voted on by the member schools of the NECC.

It's the first-career election to the All-Sportsmanship Team for Cruz, who was also a defensive strength for the Nighthawks in the 2017 season.

Cruz finished 10th in total digs this season with 150 and ranked fifth in digs per set at 2.13 as a defensive specialist.

Regis College's senior Sean Bisnett takes the top New England Collegiate Conference Men's Volleyball Honors. The reigning NECC Defensive Player of the Year earned 2017 Player of the Year accolades. 

The 2017 Defensive Player of the Year honors went to first year Audrye Alejandro from Elms College. His defensive efforts helped the Blazers make it to the NECC Championship game.

First-year standout Bryn Lipton from Endicott College was named the 2017 NECC Rookie of the Year. Lipton finished his rookie campaign with the most kills per set (3.85) while landing third with a hitting percentage of .470 in conference play.
