Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Mitchell Invitational

GROTON, Conn. – The Newbury College men's golf team finished fourth with a team-score of 338 at the Mitchell College Invitational, Wednesday afternoon. First year A.J. Skinner (Quincy, Mass.) finished second in the 25-player field, firing a team-low score of 75.

Skinner was one of five players in the field to post a score in the 70s at Connecticut's Donald Ross golf course. Tournament host, Mitchell College had the most players – two – with scores in the 70s with Matt Shea and Andrew Abbot turning in scorecards of 74 and 79, respectively. Elms College's Mike Fleury led the Blazers to the tournament victory with a team-low of a 79.

Newbury first year JayCub Lever (Saugus, Mass.) finished second amongst the Nighthawks with an 83 while fellow first year Colin Davis (Marshfield, Mass.) was right behind him with an 85. First year Mark Travers (Norwood, Mass.) and Dawud Moragne (Makawao, Hawaii) rounded out the Nighthawks with score of 93 and 94, respectively.

The Nighthawks will be back in action on Monday September 14th when they host their second tournament at 11:00 A.M. at Robert T. Lynch Golf Course in Brookline.
