Men's Golf Selected Third in Coaches Poll

BROOKLINE, Mass. – The Newbury College men's golf program was selected third in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Pre-Season Coaches Poll, announced Wednesday afternoon. A year after their highest finish in the conference post-season tournament in 2014, the Nighthawks received a total of 30 points.

Defending champion, Babson College was the unanimous favorite to repeat as NECC champions with 49 points and all seven first place votes. The Beavers swept the post-season honors with Ian Notkin earning both Player and Rookie of the Year while Head Coach Jeff Page was named the 2014 Coach of the Year.

Elms College, who finished second in 2014 with a two-day total of 638, was picked to finish second with 41 points while Springfield College was fourth with 24 points. Mitchell College was selected fifth with 22 points while Daniel Webster College and Becker College were tied for sixth with 15 points.
