Rarely do you see any baseball season opening in February, especially in the Northeast, but for the first time in the program history, the Nighthawks open their season in February, hosting a four-game set to UMaine Presque Isle. It's the second straight season the Nighthawks welcome the Owls for a four-game set to open the year. Last season, the Nighthawks started 4-0 after sweeping the weekend of games.
The Nighthawks then travel for warmer weather, playing nine games over Spring Break in Tucson, Ariz., starting with a doubleheader against Simpson College on March 5, and wrapping up with Salem State University on March 11.
The Nighthawks come home for one non-conference game against the Mass. Maritime Academy on March 15 before opening the New England Collegiate Conference schedule on March 18-19; a three-game series against Mitchell College.
Anna Maria College on March 21 again gives way to another trio of NECC games, this series against Lesley University on March 25-26. The Nighthawks round out March on the 30th; a 3:30 p.m. game against Rivier.
April opens with a three-game home series against Southern Vermont on the first and second days of the month. The Nighthawks stay home for another non-conference, weekday game, this time against Emerson College.
Elms College is the next conference opponent for the Nighthawks, another three-game series on April 8-9.
Daniel Webster and Becker College finish up the conference schedule for the Nighthawks, starting on April 14 with DWC and finishing with Becker on April 22-23. As with the previous weeks, the Nighthawks play a single non-conference game during the week. April 11 at Eastern Nazarene College and April 19 at Albertus Magnus College.
Two games out of NECC play wrap up the schedule for the Nighthawks. Out of conference at Lasell on April 26 and Dean College on April 29.
The Nighthawks come in to 2017 being voted sixth in the preseason polls according to the NECC.
