For the second straight year seniors Patrick Curry (Hampstead, N.H.) and Jessica Graus (Rochester, N.Y.) highlighted the 2011-12 Newbury College Athletic Banquet receiving Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2011-12 academic year.

Maliff, Thomas Sweep Individual Honors at Mt. Ida Invitational
The Newbury College cross country team continues to make great strides with every meet as the Nighthawks swept the individual title at the inaugural Mount Ida Cross Country 5K Invitational, Thursday September 15th. Junior Solange Thomas (Webster ,Mass.) crossed the finish line of the women’s race in 22:26 while senior Ryan Maliff (Ashfield, Mass.) paced the men with a time of 34:20.

Thomas Earns NECC Honors as Cross Country Grows
Junior Solange Thomas (Webster, Mass.) headlined a solid day at the Mass. Maritime Travis Fuller Invitational for the Newbury College women’s cross country team on Saturday September 10th. While Thomas placed 22nd in a 102 runner field, the other four members of the squad crossed the finish line with personal best on the young season. The Webster Mass. native ran a sub-seven minute mile and earned herself New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Runner of the Week honors.

Women's Cross Country Picked Third in Pre-Season Poll
The Newbury College women's cross country team was picked to place third by the eight New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) head coaches. After earning medalist honors at the Daniel Webster College Eagle Invitational, Solange Thomas will be returning for her junior year.

Cross Country Looks to Sprint in 2011
Under first year Head Coach, Brian Ford, the men’s and women’s cross country teams have their eyes set on a solid 2011 season after setting the foundation down in 2010. John Morgan returns for his sophomore season after an impressive first season where he earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) First Team honors while Solange Thomas looks to lead the women in 2011.

Newbury Releases Fall Schedules
Newbury College announces release of the Fall 2011 schedules. Cross Country will open the 2011-2012 academic year on Friday September 2nd at the Mayflower Kickoff hosted by New England College while men’s soccer, women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and women’s tennis will all be in action on the road on Saturday September 3rd.
