Brian Ford Named Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach
Brian Ford begins his first season as Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach at Newbury College. Ford has worked in the Admissions Department at Newbury as an admissions counselor since 2010 and will continue this role in conjunction with his new position as a first time head coach for the Nighthawks.

13 Student-Athletes Earn Fall Academic All-Conference
A total of 13 Newbury College fall student-athletes were named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference for the 2010 fall semester, announced yesterday by conference commissioner Del Malloy. Women’s soccer headlined the seven fall sports teams with five named Academic All Conference while women’s volleyball followed up with four. Women’s cross country, men’s soccer and women’s tennis were also represented.

Thomas, Morgan Named to All-Conference Team
Two Newbury runners were honored by the New England Colllegiate Conference (NECC) at the NECC Championship hosted by Mitchell College on Saturday October 30th in New London, Conn. Freshman John Morgan (Cumberland, R.I.) and sophomore Solange Thomas (Webster, Mass.) were named to their respective All-Conference teams after the race.

Sophomore Solange Thomas (Webster, Mass.) and freshmen Jennifer Lewis (Stratford, Conn.), John Morgan (Cumberland, R.I.) and Jessy Touron (Brockton, Mass.) earned New England Collegiate Conference accolades announced on Monday October 18th.

Maliff Earns NECC Weekly Honors
Junior Ryan Maliff (Ashfield, MA/Mohawk Trail Regional) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Runner of the Week. Maliff led all Newbury runners finishing fourth at the Eagle Invitational, hosted by Daniel Webster College, with a time of 37:07.

Thomas Medals At Eagle Invitational
Sophomore Solange Thomas (Webster, MA/Bartlett) was the women’s medalist, of the 39 runner field, crossing the finish line with a time of 22:10. Thomas finished 1:03 ahead of New Hampshire Technical Institute’s Samantha Provencher, to lead the Nighthawks to a second place team finish.

Sophomore Solange Thomas (Webster, MA/Bartlett) finished eighth at Mass. Maritime's Travis J. Fuller Invitational with a time of 20:13 to help the Nighthawks place ninth of 12 teams.

Grady, Lewis Nab Conference Weekly Honors
Newbury junior Kayla Grady (Barrington, RI/Barrington) and freshman Jennifer Lewis (Stratford, CT/Bunnell) earned New Engalnd Collegiate Conference Runner and Rookie of the Week honors after helping the Nighthawks to a sixth place team finish at the UMaine-Farmington Invitational.
