Corriveau Earns Regional Accolades
Senior outside hitter Tricia Corriveau (Coventry, R.I.) was one of 12 seniors across the New England region to be honored by the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA), Tuesday afternoon. Corriveau was selected Honorable Mention by a vote from the NEWVA member head coaches.
The Rhode Island native helped lead the women's volleyball team to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship game for the first time in two years picking up their third win of the season over Bay Path College in the semifinals. Corriveau led the Nighthawks with 288 defensive digs and finished seventh amongst NECC leaders registering 103 against conference foes. She recorded her 1,000th dig of her career midway through the season and her 1,128 career digs places her second, beyond only 2008 graduate Courtney LeDoux.
Corriveau had a decorated four-year career at Newbury and has her name all over the record book. In addition to finishing second in digs, the outside hitter ranks second in both kills and service aces. Her 164 kills – three off last year's pace – gave her 694 in her collegiate career while her 49 aces not only put her second on the season in aces but all-time with 216 in her career.
