Curry, Graus Highlight the 2011 Athletic Banquet
In front of a packed house of nearly 250 people including over 130 athletes, their families, faculty and staff junior Patrick Curry (Hampstead, NH) and fellow junior Jessica Graus (Rochester, NY) earned the 2011 Male and Female Scholar-Athlete Award, respectively, at the 2010-2011 Athletic Banquet.

13 Student-Athletes Earn Fall Academic All-Conference
A total of 13 Newbury College fall student-athletes were named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference for the 2010 fall semester, announced yesterday by conference commissioner Del Malloy. Women’s soccer headlined the seven fall sports teams with five named Academic All Conference while women’s volleyball followed up with four. Women’s cross country, men’s soccer and women’s tennis were also represented.

Three Nighthawks Earn Conference Honors
Three Newbury College women’s volleyball student-athletes were honored by the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC). Sophomore Stephanie Williams (Medford, Mass.) and senior Amy Chen (Chelmsford, Mass.) earned All-NECC Honorable Mention while sophomore Regina Sibilia (Agawam, Mass.) was named to the NECC All-Tournament team.

Newbury Rallies from 0-2 Hole Against Elms to Advance
The fourth seeded Newbury College Nighthawks moved on to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) semifinals with a come-from-behind, 3-2, win against the fifth seeded Elms College Blazers in the quarterfinals, Tuesday evening. Newbury freshman Jessy Touron (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) paved the way to the comeback victory, registering a match-high 26 kills.

2010 NECC Women's Volleyball Championship Pairings Anounced
The Newbury College women’s volleyball team enters the 2010 New England Collegiate College (NECC) Tournament as the number four seed with a 4-3 NECC record after sweeping Saturday afternoon’s tri-match against Becker College and Mitchell College. The Nighthawks will host the fifth seeded Blazers of Elms College (7-19; 3-4 NECC) tomorrow, Tuesday, evening at 7:00pm at Hellenic College in Brookline, Mass.

Rams Hold Off Nighthawks
The Newbury College women’s volleyball team dropped a non-conference match to Suffolk University, 3-0, on Thursday evening. Before the match, the Nighthawks honored seniors Amy Chen (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) and Kerri McAuley (Middleboro, Mass./Sacred Heart) for their four years of dedication to the volleyball program.

Seahawks Fly Over Nighthawks
The Newbury College women’s volleyball team fell to Salve Regina, 3-0, Monday night at the Rodgers Recreation Center. Junior Julianne Barry (Randolph, Mass.) tallied a match-high 11 kills to lead the Seahawks to victory. Sophomore Stephanie Williams (Medford, Mass.) notched six kills to lead the Nighthawks in the loss.

Nighthawks Split Tri-Match with Wildcats, Nor’easters
The Newbury College women’s volleyball split Saturday afternoon’s tri-match defeating the Wildcats of Bay Path College 3-0 before falling to the University of New England, 1-3. Leading the way once again for the Nighthawks was first year stand out and current NECC “Rookie of the Week” Jessy Touron (Brockton, MA) with 14 kills and 19 digs on the day.

CAMBRIDGE, MA – The Newbury College women’s volleyball team fell to first place Lesley University, 3-1 Wednesday night in New England Collegiate Conference action at the Nicholas Athletic Center. The Lynx topped the Nighthawks 25-13, 22-25, 25-20, 25-12 to earn their sixth straight win.

Martinez Helps Nighthawks Sweep Buccaneers
The Newbury College womens volleyball team swept Massachusetts Maritime Academy, 3-0 Tuesday evening. Sophomore Talia Martinez (Malibu, CA/Malibu) recorded a match-high, five services aces as the Nighthawks went on a 10-0 run to put game one away, 25-13. Newbury went on to take game two 25-11 followed by a 25-19 win in game three.

The Newbury College Womens Volleyball team was defeated by Salem State University, 3-1(17-25,27-25,28-26,25-17) tonight in Brookline, MA. Leading the way for the Vikings was junior outside hitter Rachael Murphy (Wallingford, CT) who collected 9 kills, 7 digs and 3 serving aces on the night.

Lasers Sneak Past Nighthawks
After a five set match, the Lasell College womens volleyball team topped the Newbury College Nighthawks, 3-2, on Tuesday evening at the Lasell College Athletic Center. Middle Jessy Touron (Brockton, MA) led all hitters with 12 kills and also producing a match-high 21 digs. Junior outside Tricia Corriveau (Coventry, RI) tallied 10 kills and 10 digs.

Pine Manor stormed back from a 2-1 deficit to upset previously undefeated Newbury, 3-2, in Gators head coach Mike Murphys first match as a head coach at the Division III level. Tricia Corriveau recorded a match-high four service aces whileTalia Martinez tallied 13 digs and Regina Sibilia dished out 27 assists.

Nighthawks Sweep Tri-Match
The Newbury College Womens Volleyball team defeated both Anna Maria College and Albertus Magnus College, going 2-0 in todays tri-match played at Hellenic College in Brookline, MA. The wins mark the first collegiate victories for first year Head Coach Chris Taylor as the Nighthawks defeated both opponents by a 3-1 score
