Nighthawks Defeat Buccaneers

 BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Freshman Stephanie Williams (Medford, Mass.) recorded nine kills to lead Newbury to a 3-0 non-league college volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-8, 25-12 and 25-14 in a match played Tuesday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.

Freshman Sara Hanna (Center Moriches, N.Y.) added seven kills for the visiting Nighthawks (5-7), who also received 15 set assists from senior Sarah Nelson (Bernardston, Mass.) in the triumph.

Junior Allison Condino (Fitchburg, Mass.) and sophomore Samantha Foley (Forestdale, Mass.) each recorded three kills in the setback for the host Buccaneers (0-7), who also received four digs from freshman Suzanne Marino (Kings Park, N.Y.).

Massachusetts Maritime travels to North Adams, Mass. on Saturday afternoon for a MASCAC tri-match with MCLA and Worcester State that begins at Noon, while Newbury hosts Lasell in a non-league outing on Thursday evening in Brookline, Mass. beginning at 7:00 p.m.
