Nighthawks Fall to Saints
The Newbury College women's volleyball team was defeated by visiting Emmanuel College tonight in three quick games (25-13, 25-14, 25-15) in Brookline, MA. The Saints were led by junior Megan Murray (Killingworth, CT/Haddam-Killingworth) who recorded ten kills as well as ten digs on the night.
Emmanuel came on strong and never looked back. In addition to Murray's effort, teammates Rebecca Stanton (Quincy, MA/North Quincy) and Jenna Ross (Centerburg, OH/Centerburg) each recorded eight kills to balance the Saints' offensive attack.
Despite the loss, Newbury received a solid performance from sophomore Tricia Corriveau (Coventry, RI/Coventry) who came away with a team-high six kills and 14 digs.
