Andre Ward enters his first season as the Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach. A certified United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) profesional, Ward brings a wealth of knowledge to Newbury College after serving as a tennis instructor for the past four years.  He comes to Newbury as the Boys’ Varsity Head Tennis Coach at the Chase Collegiate School in Waterbury, Conn. where he coached the boys’ to the Hudson Valley Athletic League Tournament semifinals in 2010.

Before Chase, Ward was a tennis instructor at former Harvard University Head Women’s Head Coach, Gordon Graham’s tennis camp in Arlington, Mass for past two years. As an instructor, he taught the basics of the game to children between the ages of five and 16 years old. Two years prior to his work at the Arlington summer camp, he spent two years as a private tennis coach teaching individuals of all age levels the fundamentals of tennis.

A native of Connecticut, Ward received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Boston College’s College of Arts & Sciences. He currently resides in Boston, Mass.
