Women's Tennis Voted Fourth in Pre-Season Coaches Poll

The Newbury College women’s tennis team was picked to place fourth this fall in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) pre-season poll released Thursday September 1. Bay Path College was the favorite in 2011 amongst the six conference coaches receiving four first place votes to finish atop the poll with 33 points.

The Wildcats, who finished 7-1 in conference play last season, return 2010 NECC Player of the Year Sarah Costa.Becker placed second with 29 points and one first place vote. Despite the loss of senior Danielle Stryker to graduation, the Hawks return their key first-team all-conference doubles tandem of Shauna McNally and Megan Nessen.
