MILTON, Mass. - Curry College women's soccer (4-2-1) led 8-0 at the half and picked up the victory over Newbury College (0-7) this afternoon at Katz Field, 10-0. The Colonels peppered Nighthawk junior keeper Noelle Sass (Randolph, Mass.) with 60 shots. Sass stopped 24 of the 34 shots on goal to extend her streak of 20 or more saves to three games. She has made over 20 saves in five of Newbury's seven games this season.
Sass, through seven contests, is only 14 saves short of the Newbury single-season record of 163 stops which was set by Anastasia Tridenti in 17 games during the 2008 campaign.
Eight Colonels scored in the match led by freshman forward Lexi Revis (Lincoln, R.I.) and senior defender Jules Petrucelli (Milford, Conn.) who each recorded two goals. Revis' two strikes came within 14 seconds of one another in the 38th minute. Curry utilized 26 players during the contest.
The Nighthawks return to conference action on Saturday when they travel to Wheelock at the Winsor School. Kickoff is set for 11am.
