Brookline, MA -- Shannon Walsh (Massapequa, NY/ Massapegua) netted her second goal of the season but it was the only offense the Nighthawks could produce in a 6-1 loss to Bay Path University on Saturday afternoon at Hellenic College.  With the win, the Wildcats improve to 2-2 on the year and 1-0 in NECC Conference play while Newbury drops to 0-6 and 0-1 in the conference.

Bay Path jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before Walsh mounted a quality solo effort to cut the deficit in half. Picking up the ball just inside half, the senior managed to beat three defenders on the dribble before slotting home on the breakaway.

The goal was Walsh's 39th of her career, putting her just one shy of tying the school record for career goals scored.

In net, junior Noelle Sass (Randolph, MA/ Fontbonne Academy) made 23 saves. Bay Path outshot the Nighthawks 49-8, including a 29-5 shot on goal advantage.

The Nighthawks will return to action Monday, September 18th when they travel to Curry College for a 4:00 P.M. kick-off.
