Nighthawks Sweep NECC Weekly Awards

PLAYER OF THE WEEK — Newbury College junior midfielder Jessica Graus (Rochester, N.Y.) helped the Nighthawks grab their first conference win on the season with a 7-0 romp of Bay Path College. Newbury also tied with Anna Maria 1-1 in double overtime action. Graus led her team to score the most goals in their program’s history. She tallied one goal and three assists for five points on the week.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK — Fellow Nighthawk,  Newbury College freshman forward Briana Tomaselli (Warwick, R.I.) was the catalyst in a 7-0 victory over NECC rival Bay Path College netting a hat-trick in the first 45 minutes of play. Tomaselli helped Newbury to score the most goals in their program’s history. The Nighthawks also tied with Anna Maria 1-1 in double overtime action. For the week she had six points.
