Tomaselli Earns Rookie of the Year; All-NECC First Team Honors

Three Newbury College women’s soccer student-athletes earned All-Conference honors by the head coaches of the New England Collegiate Conference on Monday.

Freshman Briana Tomaselli (Warwick, R.I.) was selected as the Rookie of the Year and to the All-Conference first team. Tomaselli led the NECC in overall points (45), goals (22) and goals per game (1.29) as well as registering four game winners on the season. Against conference opponents, she led the NECC with 12 goals, averaging 1.71 goals per game and 3.57 points per game in addition to finishing second behind Elms’ Jen Killion in points with 25.

Senior Ashley Greene-Allen (Brockton, Mass.) earned All-Conference second team honors. In her final season at Newbury, she finished third on the team behind with 13 points, registering five goals and three assists.

Junior Jessica Graus (Rochester, N.Y.) was named All-NECC Honorable Mention after finishing second on the team behind Tomaselli with 16 points. Appearing in all 18 games for the Nighthawks, she was in the top 10 in assists with six assists in addition to her five goals.
