Katherine Greene enters her fifth season as Assistant Athletic Director and head women's basketball coach at Newbury College. She also serves as the Senior Woman Administrator.

During the 2010-11 campaign, Greene led the Newbury women's basketball program to their best record since joining the NCAA as a full member with an 11-15 record. In addition, she the program to their third straight New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) post-season berth and first play-off home game with a 9-7 conference record.

In 2009-2010, Greene led the Nighthawks to a 7-9 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) record and second consecutive playoff berth after recruiting a wealth of talent including NECC Rookie of the Year Catherine O'Connell (Quincy, MA).

Greene comes to Newbury from Simmons College where she served as Assistant Women's Basketball Coach for the past two seasons. During her tenure at Simmons, she helped guide the Sharks to two postseason appearances, coaching three All-Conference players and one All New-England player. Greene served as the Assistant Coach at her alma mater, Pine Manor College for the 2005-2006 season, helping guide the Gators back to the postseason.

A native of Barrington, RI, she came to the Boston area to attend Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill where she received a B.A. in Communications in 2003 and was also a standout three-sport athlete in soccer, basketball and softball. A four year starter and two year captain of the soccer team, she also helped guide the Gators basketball team to three straight postseason appearances, and played first base for the softball team that qualified for the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history. Greene went on to become the first Gator in school history to earn 12 varsity letters in a career and was given the athletics department's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003.

Shannon Clark joins the women’s basketball coaching staff after his lone season as the head coach of the girl’s varsity program at Somerville High School. The Highlanders qualified for the MIAA state tournament and were awarded two Greater Boston League All-Stars and a Boston Herald All-Scholastic Honoree. Additionally, the team produced its highest scoring output since the 2006 season.

Coach Clark has been an active coach in the New England region for eight years. He specializes in the development of perimeter players, specifically point guards, and is the architect of an innovative offensive system that has established many team and individual records at several schools.

A former Director of the Mass Wildcats Girls Basketball Club, Clark has also had stints as a boys’ high school coach and a women’s college coach. As an assistant under renowned scholastic coach Bill Loughnane at both South Boston High School and Boston College High School, he enjoyed tremendous success. While at BC High, the Eagles posted a 59-10 record in three seasons, culminating in an undefeated season and state title in 2007. As an NCAA Women’s assistant at Simmons College, the Sharks posted two of their best seasons in school history as head coach Tony Price earned 2010 conference Coach of the Year. During that time, the Sharks also set thirteen offensive school records.

Coach Clark also has experience in the NECC. He served as the head coach of Wheelock College for the 2008 season. The Wildcats had one of their most prolific seasons in recent history as they tied the program mark for overall wins and carved their names in the record book en route to fifteen new offensive school records.

Sarah Briggs enters her fifth season as an assistant women's basketball coach under head coach Katie Greene. In 2010-11, she helped the Nighthawks to a second straight New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) post-season berth and first playoff home game with a 9-7 conference record.

Briggs has a strong basketball coaching background dating back to 2000 with Hoop Camp in Casco, Maine, along with Colby College Basketball Camp in both 2000 and 2001.  Briggs also worked for One on One Basketball in Providence, RI as a Coach and After School Program Coordinator from November 2005 to May 2007. Prior to that she was a stand out three-sport athlete at Mount. Ida College playing soccer, basketball and softball in 2000-2001.  Briggs currently resides in Boston and has recently earned a second Masters in Business Administration from Simmons College. 

A native of Taunton, MA Briggs graduated from the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Women's Studies and Sociology and recieved her Massters in Women in Politics & Public Polic from UMass - Boston in 2007. In May, 2011 Briggs graduated from the Boston Police Department Academy and is assigned to Boston's District A-1 (North End and Financial District).
