Women’s Basketball Helps Haiti

The Newbury College women's basketball team helped raise just over $110.00 for the Haiti Earthquake victims last night in Brookline, MA during a game against New England Collegiate Conference foe, Bay Path College.  All proceeds will be sent directly to the Red Cross.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Nighthawks worked together off the court making signs and a donation box for the event that evening.  With the help of other Newbury students, the Nighthawks sold shorts, jerseys, and other Newbury gear in addition to the funds collected by the donation box alone.  Throughout the evening, the donation box was brought through the stands and the crowd added dollar after dollar. 

The Nighthawks went on to win the game 68-40 capping off a great night of united support for the Newbury College community.
