2010:  As a sophomore, Ross collected 28 hits in 98 at-bats, batting .286 for the Nighthawks.  She hit two doubles, scored 15 runs, collected 15 RBI and stole 2 bases.  Ross appeared in 32 games, starting In 31.  During her time behind the plate and at third-base, Ross maintained a .949 fielding percentage.  Notably, Ross went two-for-two in the Nighthawks’ first NECC playoff appearance against Mitchell College.

2009:  In Ross’ freshman campaign, she batted .243 with six runs and 18 hits, starting in all 30 contests.  She collected three doubles, three stolen bases and four RBI, while maintaining a .922 fielding percentage behind the plate.

Before Newbury: In high school, Ross was an Honor Roll student, co-editor of the yearbook, a member of the school newspaper, and served on her Class Council.  Athletically, Ross competed for one year in the Ledyard volleyball program and two years with the basketball program.  She was a four-year member of the Varsity softball team.

Personal: Ariel is an active member of SAAC and Recording Secretary for CAB.  She has been an Orientation Leader for two years.  Ariel has also donated her time to the Jimmy Fund Walk, After Hours U, ABCD’s 2010 Field of Dreams event and several blood drives.  Daughter of Charles and Frances Ross, Ariel is currently enrolled at Newbury in the Communications program with a concentration in Media Writing.
