WESTFIELD, Mass. - A trio of Nighthawks; Tim Brown (Orange, Conn.), Chris Beaudoin (Bristol, Conn.) and Joshua Oliver (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) turned in top-30 times in the NECC Championships en route to a sixth place finish at the 8k Run at Stanley Park on Saturday morning.

For a third straight year, the title was won by Southern Vermont College, who turned in some of the best times of the day.

Four SVC competitors placed themselves in the top five including junior captain Marc Brandmeyer (Bennington, Vt.) who came through first once again for his third-consecutive NECC Runner of the Year laurel; no other men's cross country runner has ever won more than one NECC championship while no women's harrier has ever taken more than two titles in the league's history.

SVC ran away with the title, finishing with 21 points in the meet; bettering second place Regis College by 23 points. Wheelock and Mitchell tied in points for third, but a tiebreaker for the Wildcats would give them the bronze in the meet.
