The 5k and 8k at Mass. Maritime

Men's and women's cross country prepare for the 12th annual Lt. Travis J. Fuller Invitational, an annual 5k and 8k ran in honor Lt. Fuller, who served and lost his life in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The race is ran along the Cape Cod Canal in Buzzards Bay, Mass. The women go back to a 5k race after competing in a 6k last week, while the men will compete in their second straight 8k. Last year, the men finished third; the women, fourth.

Improving on Last Year

Three men and three women ran last year's Lt. Fuller Invitational. The top finisher for the Nighthawks was by now senior Chris Beaudoin (Bristol, Conn.), who ran the race in 32:08, good for 10th place. Junior Samantha Libby (New Gloucester, Maine) ran the best women's time at 25:22, good for 24th place.
