Men's Cross Country Selected Fourth in Pre-Season Poll
The Newbury College men’s cross country was selected to place fourth by all seven of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) head coaches in the men’s cross country pre-season poll. Last year’s team champion, Lesley University was a near unanimous selection to repeat receiving 48 points with six first place votes.
The Lynx are led by sophomore Kyle Casiglio, who won both NECC Runner of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards a year ago and fellow sophomore All-NECC First Team honoree Chris Conforti, as well as second-teamer Gus Peluso.
Mitchell College placed second earning 42 points and one first place vote. The Mariners will add eight newcomers to the roster in 2011. Senior Brian Ziminsky and all-conference selection Drew Castagna lead the group of five returning runners.
