Brian Ford Named Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach
Brian Ford begins his first season as Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach at Newbury College. Ford has worked in the Admissions Department at Newbury as an admissions counselor since 2010 and will continue this role in conjunction with his new position as a first time head coach for the Nighthawks.

Thomas, Morgan Named to All-Conference Team
Two Newbury runners were honored by the New England Colllegiate Conference (NECC) at the NECC Championship hosted by Mitchell College on Saturday October 30th in New London, Conn. Freshman John Morgan (Cumberland, R.I.) and sophomore Solange Thomas (Webster, Mass.) were named to their respective All-Conference teams after the race.

Sophomore Solange Thomas (Webster, Mass.) and freshmen Jennifer Lewis (Stratford, Conn.), John Morgan (Cumberland, R.I.) and Jessy Touron (Brockton, Mass.) earned New England Collegiate Conference accolades announced on Monday October 18th.

Maliff, McKey Sweep NECC Weekly Honors
Junior Ryan Maliff (Ashfield, MA) and sophomore Jarryl McKey (Brooklyn, NY) swept the New England Collegee conference weekly awards. Maliff was named Runner of the Week while McKey earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Maliff Leads Nighthawk Runners at Travis Fuller Invitational
Junior Ryan Maliff (Ashfield, MA) led Newbury as he finished 44th of 87 with a time of 31:10 as freshman John Morgan (Cumberland, RI) crossed the finish line right behind him nine seconds later, to finish in 47th place.

McKey, Morgan Sweep Weekly Cross Country Honors
Mens cross country sophomore Jarryl McKey (Brooklyn, NY/Frederick Douglas Academy) and freshman John Morgan (Cumberland, RI/Cumberland) swept the weekly conference Runner and Player of the Week honors. Morgan earned the honors with a time of 24:00 to finish 14th at the UMaine-Farmington Invitational on September 4, 2010.
