Talamantes, Davison Earn NECC Honors

Senior setter Matt Talamantes (Los Angeles, Calif.) and freshman middle blocker Dan Davision (Howell, N.J.) garnered New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) honors as they helped the men’s volleyball team to a 3-0 week against Daniel Webster College and Regis College.

Talamantes earned Player of the Week honors hitting .417 for the week, as well as amassed 78 assists with 15 digs, 13 kills and six service aces. In addition, he is just over 100 assists shy of 5,000 in his career at Newbury.

Davision registered a .667 hitting percentage against the Eagles twice and Regis on the week to earn the Rookie of the Week. In three matches, he tallied 17 kills with only three errors  while pitching in five aces – all against Regis – for the Nighthawks.
