Eleven Nighthawks Named NECC Academic All-Conference
A total of 95 student-athletes have been named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference Team for the winter/spring semester, it was announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy. This list included eleven Nighthawk student-athletes who participated during the winter/spring season and posted a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 while a sophomore or higher in class standings.

2010 New England Collegiate Conference Men’s Tennis Championships
Three Newbury College athletes will be participating in the New England Collegiate Conference Men's Tennis Championships this weekend at Mitchell College. Mike Foley (Oxford, ME/Oxford Hills Comprehensive) and Ben Weiner (Barrington, RI/Barrington) will compete in doubles play while Matt Talamantes (Los Angeles, CA/Viewpoint) will join Foley and Weiner in singles play.

Newbury Men’s Tennis Celebrates Senior Day
The Newbury College men’s tennis team fell to Lesley University, 7-2, Saturday afternoon in Chestnut Hill, MA. Despite the loss, the Nighthawks honored three seniors on their final home match of their careers, Mike Foley (Oxford, ME), Ryan Sevieri (Canton, MA) and Nick Sehovich (Pelham, NH) were honored before the match by teammates, family and friends.

AMCATS defeat Nighthawks for second straight win
PAXTON, Mass. – One day after capturing the first conference victory in program history, the Anna Maria College men’s tennis team defeated Newbury by the score of 8-1 in a non-conference matchup at Paxton Sports Centre on Sunday night. The win improves the AMCATS to 3-9 (1-7 TCCC) on the season, while the Nighthawks fall to 0-9 (0-4 NECC)

The Newbury College men’s tennis team fell to Wheelock College, 6-3, Tuesday afternoon. Senior Mike Foley (Oxford, ME/Oxford Hills Comprehensive) picked up his first collegiate win defeating Wheelock junior Kevin Kareckas (South, ME/Marshwood).

Nighthawks Fall To Mariners in NECC Opener
The Newbury College men’s tennis team was defeated by conference foe Mitchell College, 9-0, Saturday afternoon in their New England Collegiate Conference opener. Sophomore Kyle Carmona (Norwich, CT/Norwich Free Academy) helped lead the Mariners to their first victory of the season by sweeping both his singles and doubles match.

Sehovich, Sevieri’s First Doubles Win Not Enough; Nighthawks Fall
The Newbury College men’s tennis team fell to UMass –Dartmouth Wednesday afternoon, 8-1. Led by senior Ken Sims (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford), the Corsairs swept the singles portion of the contest en route to their first victory of the season. Nighthawk seniors Nicholas Sehovich (Pelham, NH/Pelham) and Ryan Sevieri (Canton, MA/Canton) won their first match of the season in the doubles competition.

Nighthawks Shut Out By Lions In Home Opener
The Newbury College men’s tennis team lost their home opener against Emerson College, 9-0, Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Mark Jackman (Miami, FL/Gulliver Prep) helped the Lions to the sweep with an 8-0 victory in doubles competition and won his singles match in two sets, 6-4 and 6-1.

Monteiro Named Head Tennis Coach
Jacquelina Monteiro enters her first season as head tennis coach for the Nighthawk men's and women's tennis teams. Monteiro was a 2005 graduate of Newbury College where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. In addition to her coursework, she was a four-year member of the women's tennis team.

Nighthawks Earn 4th Position in NECC Preseason
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College has been tabbed as the preseason favorite to capture the New England Collegiate Conference men’s tennis championship, it was announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy. Voting for the preseason poll was conducted among the NECC’s head men’s tennis coaches. Newbury was tabbed fourth and will post their season preview in the coming weeks.

Nighthawks Travel to NECC Women's Tennis Championships
ATTLEBORO, Mass.— The 2009 New England Collegiate Conference Women’s Tennis Championship Tournament will be an individual flighted tournament that is based upon student-athletes’ singles and doubles conference records. Players are seeded as individual players and seeds are not based on a team’s finish.
