Men’s Tennis Breaks into Win Column

The Newbury College men's tennis team dominated the visiting Wildcats of Wheelock College, sweeping singles action and splitting doubles play in a match played at Pine Manor College this afternoon.  The win marks the first for the Nighthawks this season and brings them to a 1-3 record in the NECC with 4 conference matches remaining. 

Newbury received solid performances from No. 2 Matthew O'Donnell (Vernon, CT/Rockville) and No. 5 Benjamin Weiner (Barrington, RI/Barrington) who defeated their singles opponents by set scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0, respectively.  The Nighthawks did not let up in doubles action, as Ryan Sevieri (Canton, MA/Canton) and Jonathan DiNuzzo (New City, NY/Ramapo) won their doubles match 8-1.
