ODonnell and Sehovich Receive Honorable Mention
Two members of the Newbury College men's tennis team received Honorable Mention in its' inaugural year as a member of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC). Junior Nicholas Sehovich (Pelham, NH) and freshman Matthew O'Donnell (Vernon, CT) led the Nighthawks to sweep conference-foe Wheelock College and come away with a 4th place finish on the year.
Sehovich thrived in the first singles spot around mid-season, collecting victories from Lesley, Wheelock, and Anna Maria College; while also teaming up with fellow award-winner, O'Donnell, for a first doubles victory vs. the Wheelock Wildcats.
O'Donnell was a solid contender for Newbury in the second singles position, posting wins over Becker and Wheelock College on two separate occasions. The newcomer had continued success in second doubles defeating Becker and Anna Maria College with teammate Ross Kaye (Wayland, MA).
The Nighthawks will return both players in 2010 as they continue to build a lasting framework for years to come.
