Nighthawks Cruise, Gain 4-1 Victory Over Wildcats

Brookline, MA -- A balanced attack from the Nighthawks, led by a pair of goals from sophomore Nilton De Andrade, led Newbury to a 4-1 NECC conference victory of Wheelock College Saturday afternoon at Hellenic College. 

Alex Strafer and Nicholas Olivares-Thompson also had goals for the Nighthawks who improved to 4-10 (2-2 NECC), while the Wildcats drop to 0-10 (0-3 NECC). 

The Nighthawks dominated the match but could only manage four goals on 40 total shots, 20 of which were on frame. Wheelock got their lone goal on a Pasulayman Sowe penalty kick in the 86th minute.

Newbury's Chris Tran earned the win in net for the Nighthawks, improving to 2-2 on the season. Tran made two saves on the afternoon, both in the second half.  Wheelock's Jordan Benard, (0-10) made 16 saves for the Wildcats.

The Nighthawks return to action on Tuesday when they travel across Rt. 9 to take on the Pine Manor College Gators. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.  Wheelock is back in action tomorrow when they host the University of Maine-Presque Isle at 12:00 p.m.
