Three Nighthawks Garner Post-Season Awards

Three Newbury College men’s soccer student-athletes earned All-Conference honors by the head coaches of the New England Collegiate Conference on Monday.

Sophomore Shaundize Moosavizadeh (Winchester, Mass.) was selected to the All-NECC first team. Appearing and starting all 19 games for the Nighthawks, the second year midfielder was third in the conference in assists, registering five as well as finished in the top 10 in goals (5) and in points (15).

Junior goalkeeper William McNally (Grafton, Mass.) garnered All-NECC second team honors as he led all conference keepers with a 163 saves. He trailed only Wheelock’s Victor Kashouh in saves per game, averaging 9.06.

Senior Joseph Lawer (Worcester, Mass.) rounded out the Nighthawks earning All-Conference Honorable Mention. Lawer completed his final season at Newbury, registering two goals for four points in 18 starts as well as made the NECC All-Tournament team last week along with McNally.
