Coach Andrew Lafrenz to instruct at the National Player Development Camp
On June 18-19, Coach Lafrenz will be instructing high school players at the EXACT Soccer National College Development Clinic at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. This distinct college soccer camp allows players to showcase both mental readiness and on-field skill.

13 Student-Athletes Earn Fall Academic All-Conference
A total of 13 Newbury College fall student-athletes were named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference for the 2010 fall semester, announced yesterday by conference commissioner Del Malloy. Women’s soccer headlined the seven fall sports teams with five named Academic All Conference while women’s volleyball followed up with four. Women’s cross country, men’s soccer and women’s tennis were also represented.

Three Nighthawks Garner Post-Season Awards
Three Newbury College men’s soccer student-athletes earned All-Conference honors by the head coaches of the New England Collegiate Conference on Monday. Senior Joseph Lawer, junior William McNally and sophomore Shaundize Moosavizadeh were selected to the All-Conference team on Monday.

Nighthawks Fall To Eagles, 5-0
The Newbury College men’s soccer season came to a close after a 5-0 loss, in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) semifinals, to the Daniel Webster College Eagles, Friday afternoon. Eagles senior Michael Lohr (Chepachet, R.I.) netted two goals for the Eagles during the first half in the victory.

Alves, McNally Carry Nighthawks to Semi-Finals
Leicester, Mass.- In New England Collegiate Conference men’s playoff action the sixth seeded Newbury Nighthawks upset the third seeded Becker Hawks in penalty kicks. Brent Alves (Riverside, R.I.), who scored the game tying goal in regulation, sent Newbury into the NECC semifinals after scoring the game winning penalty kick past the dive of Tim McDonald

2010 NECC Men's Soccer Championship Pairings Anounced
The Nighthawks enter the 2010 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship as the sixth seed with a 3-4 conference record. They will travel to Leicester, Mass. to face Becker College on Wednesday November 3rd at 7:00pm.

Nighthawks Upset Lynx, 1-0
Junior Tim Chatigny (Pelham, Mass./Franklin County Technical) scored the game’s only goal with one minute remaining in overtime as the Newbury College men’s soccer team upset Lesley University, 1-0, on Senior Day. Before the game, the Nighthawks honored senior Joseph Lawer (Worcester, Mass./Burncoat) for his four years of dedication to the program. Junior goalkeeper William McNally (Grafton, Mass./Marian) headlined the defense with a remarkable day in net tallying seven saves.

Lions Work Overtime to Defeat Nighthawks
The Newbury College men’s soccer team lost in double overtime against Emerson College, 2-1, in a non-conference game at Rotch Field. Newbury had taken an early lead as sophomore Shaundize Moosavizadeh (Winchester, Mass.) tallied his fifth goal of the season. Moosavizadeh rifled a bullet from 25 yards to the upper left corner of the Emerson net.

Tomaselli Registers 20th, 21st Goals In 8-1 Victory
Freshman Krista Toney (Broken Arrow, OK/Union) registered her fifth and sixth goals of the season to cap off Newburys fourth conference win, defeating Wheelock College, 8-1, Monday afternoon. The Nighthawks improve to 4-2-1 in the conference and 6-7-2 overall while the Wildcats fall to 0-6 in the NECC and 0-14 overall. Four minutes into the contest freshman Briana Tomaselli (Warwick, R.I./Pilgrim) scored her 20th goal of the season, and ultimate game-winner, on a Greene-Allens second assist.

The Newbury College men’s soccer team fell to Daniel Webster College, 3-1, Sunday afternoon. Junior Alex Jackson (Kent, Ohio/Theodore Roosevelt) tallied two of the Eagles three goals in the victory. Newbury junior Andi Maska (Roslindale, Mass./English) broke up the shut-out 12 minutes into the second period.

BENNINGTON, Vt. Captain forward Nick Haggerty accomplished his second hat-trick of the season to lift the Southern Vermont College Mountaineers to a 4-0 New England Collegiate Conference victory Saturday over the Newbury College Nighthawks.

The Newbury College men’s soccer team fell to Nichols College, 6-0, Thursday evening at Vendetti Field . With the victory, the Bison improve to 13-2-1 and break the program’s single-season wins record set in 1965 and matched in 1967 and again last year. The Nighthawks dip to 3-10.

Freshman Bryan Barrios (Central Falls, R.I.) recorded his first collegiate goal on a pass from sophomore Shaundize Moosavizadeh (Winchester, Mass.) to knot up the contest a one in the 19th minute.

The Nighthawks begin conference action at 1-0 while the Blazers fall to 0-1.

Raiders Grab First Win; Defeat Nighthawks, 3-2
Rivier College grabbed its first win of the season tonight with a 3-2 victory over visiting Newbury College. Five minutes into the second half, it was Newburys turn to respond to the lead change. Following an offside penalty by the Raiders, sophomore Shaundize Moosavizadeh (Winchester, MA) was able to beat goalkeeper John Jarvis (Henniker, NH) to tie the game at 2-2.

The MIT mens soccer team saw seven different players record at least one point in its 6-0 victory over Newbury College on Saturday night. Newbury nearly ended the shutout with 17 minutes remaining in the half on a left-footed blast by Shaundize Moosavizadeh that just grazed the left post.

Lawer's Game Winner Helps Nighthawks Defeat Saints In Opener
The Newbury College mens soccer team opened the season defeating Emmanuel College, 2-1 in overtime. Senior Joseph Lawer (Worcester, MA/Burncoat) found the back of the net for the game-winner three minutes into the overtime period for the victory.
