Beavers Hold Off Nighthawks, 2-1
The Newbury College men's soccer team lost to the University of Maine - Farmington, 2-1 in a non-conference match Wednesday afternoon. With the loss the Nighthawks fall to 4-11 on the season while the Beavers improve to 8-5-2.

The match stayed close until freshman Clevy Selengbe (St. Albans, VT) found junior Hakim Kodi (Portland, ME) in front of the net for the game-winning goal.
Newbury tightened the match with two minutes left to play when sophomore Andi Maska (Roslindale, MA/English) found the back of the net on a pass from senior Hayato Iwahori (Tokyo, Japan/Meguro-Gakuin) to put the Nighthawks on the board.
The Nighthawks will return to the pitch Sunday October 25 when they host the Hawks of Becker College at noon.
