BROOKLINE, Mass. - Senior Danny Lumb (Stoneham, Mass.) earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week honors, announced Monday morning. Lumb finished 34th of a 109-player field, turning in a two-day score of a 167 at the 2014 ECAC Championship in Bernardston, Mass. this weekend.
After the play was halted due to darkness on the first day of the tournament, Saturday afternoon, Lumb returned to the course early Sunday morning. He completed round one by holing out, from 200-yards for eagle on the long par four 18th hole to finish with a 78 and tied for ninth. It was the lone eagle of the first round and just the second one of the tournament. Lumb fired an 89 on Sunday to finish with a team-low two-day total of 167.
Earlier in the week, the Stoneham, Mass. native earned medalist honors, turned in a scorecard of an 80 at the Mitchell College Invitational at Shennecossett Golf Course in Groton, Conn. on Wednesday October 8th.
