Curry, Graus Highlight 2012 Athletic Banquet
For the second straight year seniors Patrick Curry (Hampstead, N.H.) and Jessica Graus (Rochester, N.Y.) highlighted the 2011-12 Newbury College Athletic Banquet receiving Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2011-12 academic year.

First Years Lead Newbury to Outstanding Week
The Class of 2015 has come in and made an immediate impact for Newbury College athletics. Out of the 13 student-athletes who have garnered New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) weekly honors, eight of them have been freshmen. Women’s volleyball middle blocker Sydney Fish (Kalamazoo, Mich.) received the honors for the third time this season while it was the first for women’s soccer’s Kelsey Landry (Milford, N.H.) and men’s soccer’s Rodriquez Pierre (Somerville, Mass.).

Nighthawks Honored at Golf Championship
The young Newbury College golf team capped off an impressive season by earning the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Sportsmanship Award at the conference tournament Sunday afternoon. The Nighthawks finished in fifth place with a two day combined score of 670 (338 - 332). First year Head Coach Garrett Quinn was named the 2011 Coach of the Year by the six other NECC head coaches.

Women’s volleyball freshman middle blocker Sydney Fish (Kalamazoo, Mich.) and men’s golf first year David Hart (Keene, N.H.) earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season, due to outstanding performances on the hard-court and links.

Peltier Earns NECC Rookie Honors
For the second consecutive week, the Newbury College men’s golf team had a player earn New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week honors. Freshman Stephen Peltier (Dalton, Mass.) took home the honors after finishing one stroke off the leader and tied the single day, three-team tournament hosted by Emmanuel College on September 20th.

Nighthawks Continue to Soar on Links
The Newbury College men’s golf team continues to make great strides towards being a serious threat for the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) title in two weeks. Reigning conference Rookie of the Week Stephen Peltier (Dalton, Mass.) fired his second straight – third overall – round of a 79 to help lead the Nighthawks Gold squad to first place over Suffolk University, carding a team-best, 323.

Hart Earns Conference Accolades
Freshman David Hart (Keene, N.H.) earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week honors after averaging an 82 in his first week of collegiate golf to help the Newbury College golf team to back-to-back first place finishes in their first week of the 2011 season.

Nighthawks Top Saints and Eagles
The Newbury College men’s golf team continues to turn the corner as they showed another New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent they are contenders for the conference championship. The Nighthawks bested Monday afternoon’s , 339, and road a 337 team-score to another first place finish against Emmanuel College and Daniel Webster College.

Hart, Peltier Lead Nighthawks to Victory over Hawks
Freshmen David Hart (Keene, N.H.) and Stephen Peltier (Dalton, Mass.) earned co-medalist honors, turning in scorecards of 79 as the Newbury College men’s golf team kicked off their season firing a 339 team score against New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) foe Becker College.

Newbury Releases Fall Schedules
Newbury College announces release of the Fall 2011 schedules. Cross Country will open the 2011-2012 academic year on Friday September 2nd at the Mayflower Kickoff hosted by New England College while men’s soccer, women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and women’s tennis will all be in action on the road on Saturday September 3rd.
