Head Men's Basketball Coach - Evan O'Brien
Evan O'Brien enters his second year as Head Coach of the Men's Basketball team at Newbury College. This will be O'Brien's third year with the Nighthawks, starting the 2007-2008 season as an assistant, and taking over mid-year as the interim head coach. After taking over in the second half of the season, O'Brien led the Nighthawks to an outstanding 17-4 record. The Nighthawks finished the year with an impressive 21-9 record and the 2008 ECAC Division III New England Championship title.
O'Brien attended Suffolk University in Boston, MA, where he received his undergraduate degree in Government, in 2002, and a Masters degree in Business Administration, in 2005.
During his time at Suffolk, O'Brien was actively involved in the athletic department as a member of the men's basketball team as well as working in the department over the course of four years as an undergrad. O'Brien also worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Suffolk Athletic Department while he completed his Masters and served as an intern for the Boston Celtics in their Media Relations Department.
O'Brien has coached basketball for a number of years at the
youth level as well as serving as an assistant coach for the men's
basketball team at Lasell College. For more information about

Garrett Quinn enters his first season as an assistant under head coach Evan O'Brien. Quinn comes to Newbury with a wealth of college athletic experience, most recently within the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). Quinn is currently a Special Events Specialist for the GNAC with a concentration in marketing as well as coordination and execution of GNAC ceremonies, events and conferences. Prior to his work with the GNAC, Quinn was the Intramural Sports Supervisor at the University of New Hampshire where he assisted with scheduling and supervision of intramural staff, officiated intramural sports, and coordinated new staff training.
Quinn earned his BA in Communications at the University of New Hampshire in 2007 and currently resides in Cambridge, MA.
