Nighthawks, Blazers Meet With One Week Left

With the games remaining in the regular season, the Nighthawks welcome the Elms College Blazers on Tuesday night at Pappas Gymnasium in New England Collegiate Conference play. The Nighthawks have a victory over the Blazers this season; an 83-80, buzzer-beating regulation win on Jan. 17. The Blazers are a game back for the sixth seed in the NECC standings, the Nighthawks will need to sweep their final three games and earn tiebreakers if they hope to reach the sixth seed.

Edwards Scores Career-High 32; Beats Buzzer in First Meeting

In the Jan. 17 meeting between the Nighthawks and Blazers, the first victory of the season for the Nighthawks, junior Daivon Edwards (Roxbury, Mass.) scored a career-high 32 points on 12-of-21 shooting. Edwards made a season-high six three's in that game, including a game-winning three pointer as time expired. Edwards is 12th in scoring average in the NECC, averaging 15.1 PPG. Edwards' 61 three pointers made is fourth-best in the league.

Ihearahu Nearly Perfect First Time Out

Blazers senior Conny Ihearahu (Largo, Md.) was nearly perfect in the Jan. 17 meeting between the Nighthawks and Blazers. Ihearahu scored a team-high 25 points on 11-of-13 shooting in a full 40 minute effort. Ihearahu is 13th in scoring average in the league, averaging 14.5 PPG. Ihearahu is one of only three players in the NECC to average at least 14 points and nine rebounds per game.
