Newbury College Men's Basketball Looking to Make Noise in the NECC
The Nighthawk Men's Basketball team looks to make some noise in their inaugural year as a member of the New England Collegiate Conference.
The Nighthawks will turn to senior leader Kevin Cleveland (Lynn, MA) as they look to repeat as ECAC Champions and also add a NECC Championship. As second leading scorer (13.6ppg) and top rebounder (8.6rpg) for the Nighthawks last year, Cleveland will look for help from returning guards Husain Abdul-Ghaffar (Springfield, MA), John Rowley Jr. (Hartford, CT), and Samuel Stanford (Somerville, MA) along with Center Paul Beckford Jr. (Somerville, MA).
Rounding out the roster for the Nighthawks are six new faces including senior Walky Magloire (Waltham, MA), junior Philip Batista (Marlborough, MA), and first-year players Robert Foley (Wethersfield, CT), Matthew Tise (Hanover, MA), Corey Charubini (Hull, MA) and Anthony Fannoh III (Worcester, MA ).
The Nighthawks were ranked 5th in the NECC preseason polls but are looking to place in one of the top conference spots this season.
