Kovner Garners NECC Rookie Honors

Middle infielder Daniel Kovner (Hamden, Conn.) was honored by the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) with Rookie of the Week honors. The first year helped guide the Nighthawks to a 2-0 week defeating Lesley University, 12-3, and Becker College, 10-5.

In two games, Kovner went 4-for-10 (.400) with two doubles while driving in three base runners and scoring three runs against the Lynx and Hawks. In addition, he posted an OPS of 1.000, slugging .600 on the week and a .400 on-base percentage.

Overall in 2011, Kovner is hitting .312 with four doubles, one triple and 16 RBIs while finding success against conference teams, batting .391.
