Notables: Coming off a solid freshman season starting all 31 games, Russ will be a key member of the Nighthawks offense… has speed and power leading the team in several offensive categories in 2010: stolen bases (tied with 5), runs (19), at bats (110), and tied for second in homeruns (2)… a leader in the infield, he will likely return to the shortstop position in 2011… had four hits and belted his first career homerun in walk-off fashion in the tenth inning against conference opponent Becker College on 4/19.
Before Newbury: A three year varsity Baseball letter winner… a member of the Connecticut AAU Angels… member of Hamden America Legion Post 88 baseball… member of high school Connecticut High School all-star team that played in Puerto Rico.
