Coach Sullivan says…“Once again, catcher is a key position for us. Joey has done a great job improving his body in the off-season and I feel that will allow him to be very effective both with the bat and behind the plate.” 

As a freshman (2009):
Appeared in 30 games and started 28…batted .239 with 22 hits, 11 RBI, and 12 runs scored…went 2-for-3 including his first colligate home run against St. Joseph’s College Brooklyn (4/26)…went 2-for-3 against Elms College (4/18)…had a six-game hitting streak in games played between 4/7 and 4/18

Before Newbury:
A three year varsity letter winner in baseball and served as team captain and Bay State league all star in senior season…three year varsity letter winner in football.

Enrolled in the Criminal Justice program…son of David Herer and Susan Welby
