Awards Keep Coming
Women’s volleyball freshman middle blocker Sydney Fish (Kalamazoo, Mich.) and men’s golf first year David Hart (Keene, N.H.) earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season, due to outstanding performances on the hard-court and links.
Fish received the honors for the first time since the first week of the season after helping the Nighthawks to a 1-1 week against two non-conference opponents. Early in the week, the Michigan native tallied 16 kills for a .500 hitting percentage in a 3-0 sweep of the Mustangs of Mt. Ida College, Monday evening. Fish remained red-hot registering a .529 attack percentage and 11 kills against non-conference Suffolk University on Thursday September 29th.
Hart earned his second Rookie of the Week honors after finishing in the top 10 of the 68 player field at the Elms College Invitational, after turning in a scorecard of a 79 with zero double bogeys. It was the New Hampshire native’s second straight time – third on the season – in as many days posting a 79. Hart fired a 79 the previous day to help the Newbury-Gold squad to a first place finish over Suffolk University with a 323 team score.
