Public Address Announcer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Announce starting line-ups, all game action, public address announcements at breaks, presentations and contests
  • Help create an entertaining experience at Newbury athletic events along with the Sports Information Director and Game Management Coordinator

Job Requirements:

  • Strong vocal talent
  • Strong knowledge of basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball and/or soccer
  • Comfortable announcing complex names 
  • Comfortable speaking in front of people
  • Able to attend the most of the home games
  • Communications or Sports Management majors preferred
  • Should express a desire to go into public address announcing

Play-By-Play Broadcasting Announcers

Job Description:

  • Broadcast Nighthawk men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, soccer as well as baseball and softball games through EZ-Stream software
  • In-game play-by-play announcing, pre-game line-ups, halftime: high scorers and around the league results, end of game recap of high scorers

Job Requirements:

  • Good organization and oral communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of many sports: basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball and/or soccer
  • Comfortable announcing complex names from a variety of ethnic backgrounds
  • Communications or Sports Management majors preferred
  • Should express a desire enter the sports broadcasting field
