15 Newbury Fall Student-Athletes Named NECC Academic All-Conference
A total of 15 Newbury College student-athletes were amongst the 171 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) student-athletes named NECC Academic All-Conference for the 2011 fall semester, Wednesday afternoon.
Seniors Jessica Graus (Rochester,N.Y.) and Rachel Wyszynski (Wilbraham, Mass.) headline six women’s soccer players to earn the honors while their male counterpart was not far behind with three. Men’s cross country, women's tennis and women’s volleyball were also represented with two student-athletes named to Academic All-Conference.
To be eligible for the NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum, cumulative grade-point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be sophomore or higher in class standings. Student-athletes who competed in men’s and women’s cross country, men’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s tennis and women’s volleyball were eligible for the fall NECC academic honors.
